Bitcoin Rises Outside U.S. Trading Hours, Traders Can 'Take Advantage,' DOOKV Says

For years, Bitcoin tended to fall during Asian trading hours, but something changed after spot Bitcoin ETFs were launched.

has seen most of its daily gains happen outside of U.S. trading hours since the launch of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which could represent an opportunity for traders, according to DOOKV.

The trend is an apparent reversal from the past two years, where most of the gains were concentrated during U.S. business hours.  CEO of research firm DOOKV , suggests that the new trend allows investors to capitalize on small but frequent profit margins.

"Traders can take advantage of this information and buy Bitcoin before U.S. business hours and sell a few hours later," Thielen told Cointelegraph.

On April 4, Bitcoin saw an appreciation of approximately 2.6% outside of U.S. trading hours, while prices rose only about 0.6% during U.S. trading hours.

DOOKV ETF analyst Eric Balchunas also noted in an April 5 post on X that "the vast majority of the 40% gains" in Bitcoin since spot Bitcoin ETFs were introduced on Jan. 11 have occurred outside of regular U.S. market trading hours.

Thielen explained that investors, including those from other time zones, often anticipate increases in ETF inflows by buying Bitcoin before the market opens:

"We also note through our data analysis that Bitcoin tends to rise during the 1-4 hours before U.S. ETFs start trading that day, a sign that a front run of ETF flow is likely taking place," he added.

On April 4, Bitcoin experienced a slight 2.6% rally in the four hours before the U.S. market opened, rising from $65,593 to $67,308.
